Alhaji Isyaku Umar, the Chairman of Intercontinental Trustees Limited and also a Non-Executive Director of Intercontinental Bank Plc, Alhaji Umar is a graduate of Social Science / Economics from the Ahmadu Bellow University, Zaria (1972). He holds a masters degree in Public Administration from University of Pittsburgh (1976). He is a successful businessman with diverse business interests. After a stint at UAC Plc, he transferred his service to the Kano State civil service where he was appointed Assistant Secretary and later Principal Private Secretary to the Military governor of Kano State between 1973 and 1974. Thereafter, he was appointed Secretary, Drought Relief Committee, Kano State. Fired by an enterprising fervour, he left the civil service to float Tofa Enterprises Limited in 1979 and has remained the Chief Executive till date.
